If they did a TW:40K, and presumably they’d include all of the different armies, having them all fight each other on a single planet would be a bit much. I don't think it's a viable possibility for 40k. No continuous supply to the battle and overall rework to engine and other mechanics that will make even more sacrifices than TWW had to do on release. 20 unit stacks, 80 units at most on the field. The most you can complain about is that the unit cap is a bit low.īut TW formula for 40k? I would say it's a disaster waiting to happen. I find Dawn of War 1 to still be the best representation of 40k conflicts with continuous deployment of units, and the Ultimate Apocalypse mod is close to perfection in that regard. It will still most likely be a standard single planet total war game, maybe they change it up with war theaters ala Empire where you can shift between planets, but you ain't getting anything on the size of galaxy spanning conflict.Īnd TWW isn't really that grandiose if you ask me. What? If you think that making a TW40k game is gonna mean that you get to play with the Primarchs you're badly mistaken. It didnt, it had a 1-3 plantets conflict with no name generals and comically limited forces Maybe mechainics for Nagash in game 3 will answer that questionĭoes anyone else think Company of Heroes formula could work well with 40K ? Only thing i have doubts about is how to implemet imperium? because they have alot of seperate armies, that cant have actual wars between each other or too much authonomy, after all they are one empire. imagine stealing units for trazyn's collection or seeking out and maybe fighting for lost knowlege as ADMech. Yes, some big changes and improvements are required, and new engine would be nice, but its possible and it will be better in a grand scale, not another small tactical squabble, we have alot of those already, i want primaches and necron dynasty lords, k'tan shards and godly avatars, long tendrils of tyranid hive and another war of the beast, craftworlds and world engines, thousands of guardsmen(lest be realitic) cut down by khorne breserkers, etc, loads of iconic characters and factions( yes we have a little bit of that in mods, but it looks wierd for me, demon primarches, emperor titans, void dragon etc are too "big" ln every way to fit into rts formula) with space campaign and mechanics flashing them out and clashing them all into battles with ther full rosters, imgine having variations of imperial guard depending on the planet you took them from. In total war warhammer(fantasy) CA showed a revolution in how diverse faction armies and their campain mechanics can be, and i have hope that they will expand on that in 40k, and i think it will turn out great, team is passionate and talanted and even managers belive in warhammer now, it will happen and it will be glorious. so this formula works,īut in books battles are grand and wars tear glaxy with a burning trail of destroyed worlds and trillions of dead soldiers and civilians alike, People who say they want total war: warhammer 40k want TOTAL war, not another DAWN of warĤ0k never had a game with a scale it deserves, battles fought in tabletop and most games are barely important local conflicts, between small forces with no great impact on lore. There is already a company of heroes warhammer 40k series called dawn of war, two pretty good games, would be nice to have another one but i guess relic forgot or something. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.847 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
